We have new, 100% recyclable packaging

Erik Šimšík | 4 July 2019

We are doing our best to reduce our carbon footprint. The fact is that coffee packaging is a single-use consumer good and people throw it away as soon as they use its contents. The biggest problem with conventional coffee packaging is that it cannot be separated and therefore cannot be recycled, as it contains both a metal and a plastic layer. There is also often a paper label on them.

That is why we have taken steps to our packaging 100% recyclable. The new packaging is now made of a single type of plastic that can be separated and recycled, including the labels. We realize this is just the first step. Next, we need to switch to biodegradable packaging. But only in a few years, when we are certain that they will actually decompose and break down exclusively into organic substances.

The next, even more important step will be to encourage as many people as possible to buy coffee by weight, in their own packaging. That is why a few months ago we introduced these great silicone bags, which are completely waterproof and airtight. At the same time, they do not take up much space. What's more, they are dishwasher safe.

For larger volumes, we have introduced returnable boxes, which have already saved thousands of packages.

We want to continue this direction in the future and we believe that through the right choice of packaging, promoting zero-waste sales and reuse, we will be able to reduce the amount of waste from our roastery to a minimum.
