Our new home in a new hood on Košická

For the past few months, in addition to our roaster, we have put drills, screws, and master craftsmen to work. Alongside dialing in flavor profiles of new roasts, we fine-tuned colors and assembled our new space piece by piece. Since mid-September, the aroma of espresso has been filling the air, and only delicious cocktails remain to be tuned to perfect balance. Welcome to the most beautiful neighborhood in Bratislava, to our new location on Košická.

It is just past eight o'clock and the first morning cyclists are already parking their bikes outside the cafe doors. The sunny spots beneath the windows are occupied by a pair of businessmen having a breakfast meeting, and the back table has been claimed by a group of students who decided to filter through their schedule over a fresh V60. Just a few days after opening, you have brought life into our cafe. Casual passers-by and neighbors from the next entrance alike have found their cozy corner here. Bringing you all together to create a vibrant and diverse space was in our plans long before number thirty-six won the game for a new address. And we are thrilled that it won your hearts, too.

This place won us over immediately as well. Even though Košická wasn't originally on our radar, all it took was one look through the windows from the sidewalk into the original space, and we could already see ourselves behind the bar. The green surroundings, generous space for a patio, and the genius loci of the entire street matched our vision of an ideal afternoon with a cappuccino outside the city center. And that is exactly how we wanted to fit into the new hood.

Before the scuffed walls received a fresh coat of paint and our cafe took on our corporate colors, several tons of beans passed through the roaster, several dozen craftsmen came through the door, and the classic saying crossed our minds more than once – Rome wasn't built in a day. We patiently navigated the renovation, which stretched slightly past the original timeline, and we spent part of that time in overalls ourselves. We occasionally turned the roastery into a workshop that produced custom-made tables and plenty of ideas. If you look up to the ceiling from our handmade tables, you will be dazzled by our industrial sun – a light fixture that playfully reflects light to mimic sunbeams across the grey ceiling. Our walls are adorned with original paintings by the talented artist Lucia Žitnayová, while rich yellow contrasts with azure blue throughout the space. The contrasts of Košická.

Goriffee Košická is a space where you can experience our coffee at its finest. Everything we pack at the roastery reaches the cafe shelves almost immediately, and a fresh roast is always waiting for you in the grinder. In addition to coffee, our new space also serves drinks for which it is definitely worth adding to your daily step count. Our house-recipe Espresso Martini quickly took over the bar top, earning an honorable first place among cocktails for both us and our guests. And daily fresh pastries from local bakeries like Eberhard, Mandlove, or Le sucre are the perfect companion to a delicious morning cappuccino.
